New YouTube Analytics for Artists

YouTube has recently launched a new analytics dashboard for Official Artist Channels. This new dashboard has a variety of new metrics focused on giving insight into an artist’s audience, global reach, and video and song performance on YouTube’s platform.

There are a number of new features available in the new analytics for artists. The first is “Total Reach”, which displays stats on videos on the Official Artist Channel, as well as stats on videos created and shared by fans, tastemakers, and collaborators that contain the artist’s music.

Another new feature is the “Song Detail” feature. This shows all videos for a song by an artist and how much of the video contains the song. This will show data on official artist uploads as well as fan uploaded videos like lyric videos, covers, dance videos, etc…

These new features can be found on desktop in the analytics section of the studio dashboard, and also in the YouTube Studio mobile app, by clicking into the “Artist Analytics” section of the app (screenshot below).

Changes To YouTube Mid-Roll Ads

Mid-roll ads are one of the secret weapons that can help you boost your earnings on YouTube. Up until now, only videos that were at least 10 minutes long are eligible for mid-roll ads. Fortunately YouTube is now making mid-roll ads available for any video over 8 minutes long, which could have a significant impact on your overall earnings.

Official Music Videos On Facebook

Starting August 1st, 2020 Facebook will be integrating official music videos from artists into their official Facebook Pages. If you operate a Musician Page on Facebook and are working with a video distributor, you now have the option to automatically display your official music videos directly on your Facebook page.
