If you’re monetizing on Facebook, there are some important updates you should be aware of that'll open up brand new channels of revenue that never existed before.
Facebook's new monetization program is rolling out to more and more creators, with some pretty exciting and fresh changes. You can now be paid from text posts, and more. Let’s break it down.
The biggest update to Facebook’s new monetization program is the ability to merge in-stream ads, ads on Reels, and performance bonuses all into one. This lets you earn revenue across all your posts, including photo posts, text posts, and Stories. This means simply uploading a photo with a short caption can now earn you money on Facebook.
How does this work? Facebook is basing earnings on engagement, views, and plays, for a performance-based payout, similar to the bonuses you may have gotten used to across Meta’s platforms in recent years.
Facebook is also updating their analytics into a single ‘Insights’ tab in the Meta Business Suite and Professional Dashboard, which will show you exactly how much money you’re earning from your various content formats (Reels, photo posts, etc.)

This entirely new version of monetization, which Facebook has coined ‘Content Monetization,’ is set to replace the current model starting August 31, 2025. Currently the program is available to select creators only. However, you can opt-in via your monetization settings.
We’re excited to see how this new program plays out and we can’t wait to hear from creators on their experiences. If you have any questions on this or anything else Facebook related, contact us.
