As part of its ongoing efforts to elevate and champion Black voices in the music industry, YouTube has launched the FIFTY DEEP Music Grants program, a new multi-generational initiative that empowers both emerging and established Black Hip-Hop artists to realize their visions and connect with a broader, global audience.
Supported by YouTube’s 50 DEEP social initiative, the program celebrates the legacy of Hip-Hop over the last 50 years, having grown into a truly global art form with profound cultural influence. Through grant opportunities, the program provides the means for the next generation of talented Black musicians to receive financial support, access industry resources, and secure features in YouTube’s upcoming projects.
Eligibility
Whether just starting out or already making waves in the scene, Black Hip-Hop artists, songwriters, and producers based in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa are eligible to apply. The ideal candidates should also be committed to establishing a long-term channel strategy on YouTube, be open to collaborating with other recipients of the grants, and plan to release music between Q1 and Q2 2024.
What’s in store?
FIFTY DEEP Music Grants offer a variety of benefits. Eligible artists receive financial backing for the development and release of new music. They also gain access to YouTube’s extensive resources and expertise to help grow their channels and reach new audiences. Additionally, artists may have the chance to be featured in YouTube’s 50 DEEP cultural initiatives and be showcased on the YouTube Music homepage, curated playlists, and promotional campaigns, further elevating their profiles and impact.
