YouTube just released a new app called YouTube Create that allows you to easily edit both Shorts and long-form videos directly from your phone. Shorts in particular have become a key component when it comes to reaching a wider audience of viewership, and we think YouTube Create will make it easier than ever to quickly produce high-quality Shorts.
In addition to basic editing tools, YouTube Create also includes a range of other features. For example, the app includes an audio cleanup feature that makes the voice in the audio clearer if there's a lot of background noise. As well as animated captions and photo/video overlay.
To get started, download the app and tap the ‘+’ icon. From here you’ll import all the videos you’d like to add.
Then, tap the three dots in the top right to change your aspect ratio; 16:9 for long-form video content or 9:16 for Shorts content.
Now, you’ll be greeted with your timeline. Slide clips, cut, and scroll through the bottom feed of options to see what you can add to take your video to the next level.
It’s important to keep an eye out for the Shorts time limit warning at the one-minute mark.
Currently, YouTube Create is available on Android with IOS compatibility coming soon. We’re excited to see how you use YouTube Create. Watch YouTube's official announcement below, and as always, feel free to contact us with any questions.
