YouTube recently launched their new Live Control Room in YouTube Studio. This is the place where creators can create, manage, and monitor live streaming all in one place. There are numerous new features and updates which vastly improve upon the previous YouTube live streaming interface, so continue reading for the full details.

The first thing you’ll notice in the new Live Control Room is its “dark-mode” interface. This is designed to help reduce glare while live streaming and can also help highlight some of the interfaces features. The most important new feature is the ability for streamers to better monitor and interact with fans through a real-time actionable dashboard. Other notable features include:

• Highlights: Drive more engagement after your stream by creating a highlights video while streaming, and you also have the option to edit and publish your highlights later

• Viewer activity widget: Gain real-time insight into your Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Memberships activity through an easy-to-follow widget

• Stream health widget: Understand your video ingestion quality and health score all while streaming

• Custom stream keys: Organize your live streams by creating and saving unique stream keys

• Improved managed tab: Manage and see all your scheduled and current streams in one central location

• Copy & Create: Quickly go live by using a completed stream as a template, which allows you to easily copy your stream key and associated metadata from a previous stream

To get started, users can quickly access the Live Control Room from anywhere on YouTube by clicking the creation icon and selecting “Go Live.”

Then you'll have the option to create a brand new stream, or just copy pre-existing settings from a previously completed stream. After that, just fill in your metadata and click “create stream”.

You’ll then be directed to the “Manage” page where you can monitor the live stream, as well as interact with your viewers in real-time.
